Hello,
My name is Rachel Gerber --my husband Rory and I, and our two daughters (Stella, 5, and Lola, 18 months)
have lived in our beautiful home in the Moylan Terrace Community for 7 months now There is not one day that
goes by that we do not give thanks for the blessing that is our first home. Rory and I work full time to provide
for our girls and to be able to savor this SLO life we've been blessed with. We work hard, we shop locally,
attend sporting events (Rory coaches SLO Youth Football), worship here and take adventures to new hiking
spots frequently. Without moderately priced housing for young families like ours, I really cannot imagine what
we would do. We would be renting, I suppose, and for a long time.
We truly feel like we "won the lottery" in being able to purchase this home. Allowing the San Luis Ranch
project to come to fruition would change families' lives. Families like ours, who want to contribute to this
community and to make the 'SLO life' a fulfilling one. Please consider this project and contemplate the benefits
of what other thriving families could do to contribute to this treasure of a community if given the opportunity.
Attached you find a picture of us that we took to commemorate our first Christmas in our new home. (We spend
a lot of Saturday mornings, snuggling as a family, enjoying the sounds of the park, the chug of the train and the
buzzing joy that is our life here.)
Respectfully,
Rachel and Rory Gerber
