RECEIVED
CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO
JUN 0 6 2017
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Dear SLO Planning Commission: Kim Bisheff, Scott Mann, Nicholas Osterbur, Hemalata Dandekar, Ronald Malak,
John Fowler, and Charles Stevenson:
Our city has made it clear that we need to prioritize housing. Workforce housing is the number one goal for the City
Council and it has been made clear that our residents agree with this goal. This project was identified as one of 3 sites
for workforce housing in the city according to the LUCE and the developers have worked tirelessly with many
stakeholders in this community to provide a good project that will focus on agricultural heritage, community,
multimodality and workforce housing.
There are too many people forced to commute into SLO for work and it's creating traffic problems, affecting the
environment, and decreasing the quality of life for our workforce. The amazing people contributing to our economic
vitality as a city deserve to be able to plant long-term roots here and be able to afford to live here, just like many of
you had the opportunity to do.
This project is the best use of this land and a much better use than the currently approved Measure J with significantly
fewer and larger homes and more big box retail. Please support getting San Luis Ranch through the approval process
and in the pipeline to become a reality because we need it desperately.
