While I love the city of San Luis, the truth is I will never be able to afford a home here. It makes me really sad. The idea of San Luis Ranch and Avila Ranch expanding available, affordable (and solar -powered!) housing in San Luis Obispo makes me grin from ear to ear. We desperately need more housing in town. I have heard folks complaining it will bring more cars, but when folks can live here and don't have to drive in from other cities it will reduce car traffic and air pollution. Let's make this a reality. While we can kid ourselves that San Luis Obispo shouldn't change or won't grow if we just "keep it the same", the reality is that things DO change and things SHOULD change --for the better! We have a choice about what we want our town to look like --let's include the vision of San Luis Ranch in what our town can be. Thank you, Erin Lares Food Program Supervisor ASI & Orfalea Family Children's Center
