I am a California native with a construction management degree and an employment opportunity that would have moved me
from a position in Seattle back to California and a post in San Luis Obispo. I was eager to make the move, but the supply and
cost of housing changed that. I instead chose Chico, where I purchased a home, secured a great job in my industry and am
additionally teaching at Chico State University. It's disappointing that young professionals like me can succeed in places as
different as Seattle and Chico, but not in San Luis Obispo
