That said, I do have real concerns about the impacts to existing traffic/circulation issues and inadequate infrastructure as this is not the only project in the pipeline. The Avila Ranch developer is improving areas specific to this project, but without improvements to congested intersections, progress on the Prado Road extension or a four lane Tank Farm (to name a few), the high volume hours that frustrate so many will undoubtedly get worse. I also believe that breaking into this market for young families and working professionals will continue to be stressful. Paying 500-600K for a house is overwhelming, and many incomes here don't yet provide the cushion that makes the decision an easier one (or even an achievable one). I hope the work to support existing and attract new employers that pay these needed incomes will coincide with your work on housing. Ultimately, I believe the greater good is served in increasing the housing supply. My husband and I are not unlike many in our peer group who make sacrifices and concessions to live in San Luis Obispo, and yet, we are grateful for the opportunity to raise our children and build community here. More people should have that same opportunity. I appreciate your time and consideration. Thank you for the work you do on behalf of our community. Best, Lindsey Haring
