The hard/cold housing -data for decades has been a consistent refrain,
'in California alone over each of the past 10 years,

That elevates our current planning -status to one of acute failure;
But who is accounting for a statewide residency -inadequacy, anyway?
Certainly not SLO,

This presently considered Avila Ranch (AR) project
isn't going to solve/dent that kind of a state/national residency -shortfall.
However,
it can serve as an antici ator concent -window it into what is possible,
now & tomorrow;
A demonstration of'abodic-experimentalism'....a lost art of modern times.
The framing -question (ergo, outcome -thesis) might be this::
"As planners,
are we contributing to a Housing Crisis or,
are we complicit in a Residency Crime?"
Ask ourselves,
Do we want mere programmatic Residential renderings,
or is it time to accommodate more novel, poetic Residency outcomes?
Answering that near -existential inquiry,
opens a conce tual- ortal within which SLO/AR
can offer A VALUE to the rest of the state/nation;
Manifesting either,

a new planner -day of FoundLuck assets -creation(?),
or an extended political -age of LostOpportunity costs -accrued(?)....

The main obligation/responsibility of possibility within this pending AR Proposal,
is to task aur lanners develo ers & bankers
to envision a Residency -Real Estate Future that'nroductizes' (not only profitizes!)
the fun -and -fortuitous.

The pleasing -and -surprising consumer -aspects of R.E. prof{�ict inventivne s
go a long, long way (even, MarketMakers!)
in backfilling a few potholes of'abodic-despair' [i.e. Crisis/Crime]
in our historical -dearth of Real Estatelenvironmental-design Product -Opt ons,.
after all,
no one appreciates pot -holes in the increasingly arduous roads they travel,
where those incongruous paving -voids are so (obviously) elemental to fix !
