Subject: Avila Ranch
We are opposed to the development of what is known as Avila Ranch. What a horrendous idea it is to build so many
homes that will add 6000 to 7000 more cars per day on Buckley Road that is already unsafe. There are so many cars,
garbage trucks, pickup trucks, and semis using Buckley many of which pass on the double yellow lines especially
when there is a slow moving vehicle such as a tractor. I dread seeing bicyclists on Buckley and really do fear for them
as so much of the traffic is going way too fast. Right now the bike lane is extremely narrow.
An extension of Buckley does need to be done. The situation at Vachell Lane and South Higuera is so bad. Has any
one of you tried it especially at peak traffic times such as between 3 and 6 P.M.? It's impossible at 5. It's bad during
the morning commute and when school classes end for the day. And somebody wants more cars out there? Come
on!!! Common sense OUGHT to prevail.
And what about sanitation plant overload? Have you considered this? Think about it....
That this project is even being considered is almost unbelievable.... Please take it off the table and forget about it.
