San Luis Ranch deserves your unanimous support because it offers a wide variety of benefits to the City, local employers, local employees and residents. First, San Luis Ranch will provide 580 new housing units that are sorely needed in our community. Instead of providing only large single family homes, the project will include a variety of housing types and sizes. This will ensure that the project will serve a much broader range of community members than would a typical residential development. San Luis Ranch will also help fund critical gaps in our local circulation system – particularly the Prado Road overpass. The project will also connect Prado Road with Los Osos Valley Road. Traffic conges- tion will also be relied throughout the city since the project will contribute funds for various other infra- structure improvements. In addition, it will help to improve and extend local bike routes. San Luis Ranch will help the City’s jobs-housing mismatch and take up to 900 commuters off the high- ways every morning and evening. This, in turn, will help the City meet its GHG goals. Commuter traffic is probably the largest single source of GHGs in the county. Once again, please vote to approve San Luis Ranch for these and other reasons. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Gerald L. Rioux Executive Director Attachment
