Subject:Fwd: Proposed Tree Removals
----------
Dear Ron Combs and the Tree Committee,
I am writing about the two Ficus Trees and a Carrot Tree that you will be
considering for removal. One is on the curb in front of the property that
Matt Quaglino is developing into a 4-story building. The other is on
Garden Street where Hamish Marshall is in the process of erecting the
Garden Street Terraces. These trees are all healthy and should be saved. I
came to your meeting a month ago when the address given by the City was
mistaken.
For the past week I have been ill and cannot attend this evenings meeting.
Please reconsider all of these street trees because since they are in the curb
area, I believe they belong to the citizens of our town and should not be
removed at the whims of developers. Mr. Marshall had stated that none of
the trees on Garden would be removed, therefore, you need to hold him at
his word.

The Quaglino situation, is that, we should be allowing buildings built right
to the sidewalk but should encourage some public space. This is a fine
opportunity to have a cafe at the front of the building where people can
enjoy the day under the canopy of the beautiful Ficus Tree.
Respectfully submitted, Sandra Lakeman
