The City of San Luis Obispo is happy to join with the vast number of supporters in advocating for the approval of the Tribal Council's nomination to protect our pristine south Central California coastline and designate these local ocean waters to be protected by the highest levels of preservation for future generations. In addition, we are supportive of the recreational benefits as well as the economic benefit of increased permanent, local jobs in our region. The City of San Luis Obispo strongly supports this conservation effort of an irreplaceable ecosystem which provides numerous environmental benefits to wildlife and people alike. I request that you support the nomination of the Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary. Please contact me with any questions at 805-781-7114. Sincerely, Jap Howell Marx t/ M/ayor CC: Northern Chumash Tribal Council (/
