The City of San Luis Obispo is happy to join the vast number of supporters advocating for the Tribal Council's nomination to protect our pristine south Central California coastline and designate these local ocean waters to be protected by the highest levels of preservation for future generations. In addition, we are supportive of the recreational benefits as well as the economic benefit of increased permanent, local jobs in our region. The City of San Luis Obispo strongly supports this conservation effort of an irreplaceable ecosystem which provides numerous environmental benefits to wildlife and people alike. We look forward to the approval of the designation of the Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary. Sincerely, JkLJ4,X_,, J n Howell Marx k,'ayor CC: Northern Chumash Tribal Council
