Hello-
Please put do not decide on the Broad Street Bike Blvd yet. There have been many meetings and lots of discussion but I
do not think you have all the data you need to make a final decision that would affect so many.
Work with Caltrans to have a test closing of the Broad Street on/off ramp, something that has been discussed for 30
years, then look at the traffic studies and decide on a plan.
We definitely need traffic calming in the area. Broad Street is becoming a race track where people just want to fly
through. They do not care about bicyclists, pedestrians or the neighborhood. What if the speed limit was 15MPH?
Imagine that! Win, win, no need to change traffic flow, create speed bumps, etc.
Lincoln Street is already a perfect bike blvd. No stop signs, no traffic, really wide street. How about considering it for the
bike blvd.?
Please do not take us down the road we went down in 1997.
Thank you,
Connie Bruton
