Subject:Re: Proposed Street Tree Removals
Chair Loosley, Ron Combs and Tree Committee Members: I would like to
strongly endorse this letter prepared by Allan Cooper, as I have been
unwell and I may not be able to attend your next meeting, Monday 28
August 2017. If Garden Street will not have curbs and is going to be more
of a "people" street it is only sensible to save all of those trees, except for
the one that Cooper mentions could be removed.
In addition, I would like to suggest that you re-visit your decision made on
the Ficus tree "in front of the Fremont theater". It was represented by Rob
Rossi that it is disturbing the floor tile in the theaters' restrooms. Since it is
not really in front of the theater, but to the right of the entry and the
bathrooms are on the left side of the Fremont, it does not appear that the
Ficus could be damaging those floor tiles. I wish to request that you revisit
this issue and since the arborist stated that the tree is fine, I hope that you
can redo your decision in order to save this lovely tree.
Best regards, Sandra Lakeman
