RE: Community Needs Workshop
2-1-1 SLO County brings people and services together. Free, confidential 2-1-1 calls are
answered by knowledgeable, bilingual call specialists who provide 24-hour referrals and support
to those in need of health and human services. 2-1-1 SLO County resources are also available
via an online searchable database at www.211slo.org.
Calls to 2-1-1, and searches to the online database, are logged into reporting software. These
reports can provide insight to the needs that the residents of San Luis Obispo have. Data
presented here is from July 1, 2016- June 30, 2017, unless otherwise noted.

When an individual or family is in need of assistance, often multiple types of help are needed.
By calling 2-1-1, community members are provided referrals to as many different services as
necessary to ensure their needs are met.
On average, a caller will receive 1.7 referrals to programs, and each user of the online database
(determined by unique IP address) is viewing 5.5 resources.
