Subject:Regarding 1135 Santa Rosa St. appeal for a waiver of commitments the builder had
previous agreed to follow
Honorable Mayor Harmon & Councilmembers:
Please consider this a comment in opposition to the appeal for a waiver of a previously agreed to color scheme and
other external features of the prominent structure at 1135 Santa Rosa.
It’s clear that the contractor or owners took a gamble that they could do what they want and, at worst, pay a minimal
fine.
Instead I think they should be required to abide by the original permit conditions. That is repair, repair.
This will send a clear and important message that the Architectural Committee and other committee decisions are truly
supported by the City Council and that those builders who are quickly changing the look-and-feel of our City will not be
able to trample standards set by the City, it’s council and those who elected them.
Please stand up for your committees and other City building regulations and requirements.
Thank you for considering this comment.
Sincerely,
Todd Katz
