Subject:Pilot program for San Luis Mountain
As a SLO native, I've spent my whole life marveling at the open space we have continued to protect over the years.
Especially relative to many other over developed parts of California (sadly). Our open space should be enjoyed
RESPONSIBLY by hikers, bikers, and equestrians alike.
Regarding the 2 year pilot to close San Luis Mountain at 8:30 PM, I am 100% in favor of it. There certainly seem to be a
lot of grumpy people opposed, but we can not truly assess the impact of such a program without giving it a try.
I know I speak for all my mtn biking friend's when it comes to safety: when night riding I use a bright headlight and a
Bell... to safely warn other hikers or animals in the vicinity.
For those who work day jobs / school classes, keeping the mountain open later provides an opportunity to remain active
during the week, even when the days get short. Please consider this feedback and green light the pilot program.
Many thanks,
