Subject:Night hiking
To whom it may concern,
I have been a proud resident of the SLO community for about 4 years and feel right at home with the available hiking
options. Unfortunately, the law of being off the mountain when it's dark has been very limiting due to my full time work
schedule. This leaves me a very small or non-existent window to explore our non threatening sage mountain terrain.
I am emailing in hopes to overturn the law that punishes hard working residents, like myself, when hiking at night. Hiking
at night is not only safe with a headlight but when the weather is cool and the town is quiet, the therapeutic benefits are
limitless. Our hard-working and adventurous adults deserve the freedom to explore day and night.
With winter nearing I am yet again going to completely loose all opportunities to hike with this law in place. What is the
reasoning for this law? If it can't be removed, can the hiking hours be extended? Where is the documentation that lead
to this existing law to take place?
All information and consideration is appreciated.
Happy trails,
Travis Kool
