I am an outdoors enthusiast in SLO. I appreciate spending time with nature on my mountain bike, and in my hiking and climbing shoes. The ability to be on the trails, amidst the rolling hills, and the native flora and fauna is part of the reason I decided to relocate to this beautiful town. I understand that there is tremendous resistance to extending the pilot program hours to 8:30pm and the largest reason is due to inconvenience of the wild life. I can speak for myself and almost every biker, hiker, and climber when I say we enter the trails not to destroy nature but to commune with her. If we did not care about this, we would be working out in the gym! Part of the fuel for these excursions is the sights, sounds, and smells of all that is local here. When I am on the trail, I am riding to experience the full variety of smells in the air. I stop and admire the flowers, the hawks soaring, the bees landing. My senses are emboldened from the Nature's creation. So many of us work jobs that cannot permit us to enhance our hearts with nature during the current limited hours. The extension would permit us to more nourished as whole people which in turn will permit us to nourish others in the community more fully and sincerely. Additionally, as this is a Pilot program, it is a perfect time to experiment with forward thinking change. A community is only as strong as it is flexible, accommodating, trusting, and supportive. I know SLO is this way from time I have been a member here. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration. I hope we can grow our appreciation for nature together with love and trust. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Gratefully, Sarra Sarra Kaufman (215)280.3748 www.hamsayogaandayurveda.com 1
