Regarding the Broad Street Place development:
It is my understanding that the City of San Luis Obispo does not have a "Workforce Housing Policy" in place. If that is
correct, then I can't tell you how important I think it is that Peoples Self Help Housing is addressing this part of the
market. For those in the approx. 100‐160% AMI this may be the only development in the near future that addresses this
demographic. In light of recent events, I will assume the Avila Ranch Development will be delayed for some time now.
There is a critical need to help retain the workforce and I further believe this development will do just that.
I agree to those items addressed in the staff report with regards to the location near jobs, shopping, transportation,
sports fields etc... For these reasons alone I would encourage that you support this and move it ahead.
