Hello San Luis City Council members, I am a SLO local who lives on Chorro Street and Cerro San Luis is my closest and favorite trail system in the area. I ride with a group of avid mountain bikers and hikers and I volunteer on trail construction and maintenance with the CCCMB organization as well as the Friends of Pismo Preserve organization. Those I ride and hike with are very respectful of our open spaces and wish we could enjoy them more. Even now but especially as Winter and daylight savings time approaches I we are unable to enjoy local trails after work due to lack of time before dark. Mountain Biking and occasionally hiking are my only forms of exercise and currently time only allows for me to enjoy our trails during the weekend. I strongly support the City staff plan (Item 10 on the 10/17/17 City Council Agenda) of a two year pilot program to expand hours of access for Cerro San Luis. This plan is cautious and conservative and is set up to carefully monitor potential environmental impacts. This plan only affects a small percentage of our open spaces throughout SLO. Please, please let us access our beloved trails after-dark which definitely will have a positive mental and physical impart on my life and others I know. I would be more than happy to speak with anyone who is interested in real-world input from a SLO resident. Thank you for the time, much love, Rob Wickens 805-300-6696 1
