I take advantage of the open spaces at Johnson Ranch, Irish Hills, Madonna, and Bishops Peak during the week because my job doesn’t afford me time during the daylight hours. During the spring and summer months there is no issue, but during the fall and winter its typically dark when we begin our ride or hike due to the shorter days and time change. I hope you understand, that many of us show up to work in the dark and leave our offices in the dark. This transition is difficult enough, and to make matters worse, the outlet that many of us enjoy has also been taken away from us. We are forced to relocate our activities to less desirable areas or omit the activity. When making your decision on this issue, please keep the working professionals in mind who frequent these trails. I believe we make up a silent majority of the people who take advantage of these trails. I understand the safety concerns, but I feel those who have been venturing out at night for years are typically not the ones causing the issue.
