Subject:North Brod Park Project
As you will be considering this concept at your upcoming meeting on 6 December, I wish to comment that
this park for the north Broad area has been on the books for what I believe is 30-40 years. Suddenly it is
missing from the Parks and Rec Update from 2017. Where did it go? Why is it no longer on the agenda
for discussion. AND where is the discussion of the I believe tens of thousands of dollars dedicated by the
last city council for establishment of this long promised regional park. I understand some of it was co-
opted for use to study some other issue. That is not acceptable. When promises are made to the
residents of this city, your obligation is to uphold those promises and make certain they see their way to
completion.
Our City is all about nature and open spaces. Though many recent decisions do not seem to be holding to
the LUCE in this regard. My concern is also concerning the large amount of money designated for this
regional park is being absconded with for other projects or uses, irrespective of the Council's decision to
pursue this park, and provide a very healthy outdoor experience for a region bereft of these open spaces.
Fair is fair. Yet, your recent decisions indicate you do not abide by that motto. Shame on you for
disappearing this proposal, and consuming the money designated to other un associated purposes. Return
the money and put it BACK in the update, and get this done.

I believe in open spaces as the harbinger of our City-wide caring for the preservation of open spaces and
recreational parks in neighborhoods. Too bad your actions speak louder than the words we have heard.
