Dear Parks and Recreation Commission,
I wanted to start by saying thank you to the City and the Parks & Recreation Department for the recently completed
revamp of the Sinsheimer playground. It is a truly amazing place for kids and will be enjoyed by a generation of kids,
including mine.
I also want to thank Shelly Stanwyck and her staff for taking the time to meet with residents of the North Broad Street
area (at least two that I attended) to satisfy the long-identified need for a park that serves these residents.
I believe that some of the properties that we have collectively identified have the potential for creative and useful public
spaces.
I do feel that it is important to keep the unmet need for this park as an active (and top priority) goal in the draft of the
2020 Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan. I recognize that the process of budgeting, land acquisition, design, and
construction can take several years. With over $700k budgeted for a park in the North Broad area and with the City in
the process of locating suitable park sites, residents have been getting excited about this park finally becoming a reality.
Thank you.
Greg Robinson
