Subject:Don’t turn neighborhoods into bike highways
Dear Mayor and City Council,
Do not spend time and money on the Anholm District bike highway. I agree with all elements of Mr and Mrs Gurnee’s
letter included in the meeting packet.
What happened to the rail road bike lane project? This planned path would impact safety and increase bike use to
downtown more than any other plan on the books.
The preset project tears apart and visually destroys an historic neighborhood where NO injuries have occurred. Talk to
the planning commission and learn about the disastrous results in Europe where similarly complex installations caused
injury.
Take the courage necessary to walk away from this plan and listen to the neighbors who will lose parking and be
subjected to an industrial grade, ugly installation. Why wait for outraged residents to mount a campaign to remove the
“highway” and / or suffer the consequences of future injuries due to the complexity of the plan.
Sincerely,
Ron and Mary Lou Johnson
