We cannot get there with the status quo and need to make a change. There are many residence that a going to paint a picture that this will destroy the neighborhood and that the neighborhood doesn't want this. As a resident, I can say many of us want additional bicycle safety infrastructure and believe that these cycle tracks will actually improve the quality of the neighborhood. Morro street bike blvd had resistance initially, and is now consider a success. There will be an outcry from the NIMBYs, but remember there are many folks in community and neighborhood that still support this preferred alternative. I have a concern with the Lincoln alternative or going back the drawing board will be counter productive to the how we need to achieve our 20% bicycle mode share goal. The Lincoln alternative effectively is a do nothing approach. If the council decides it is too much to remove parking in the neighborhood, please direct city staff to implement the one-way couplet approach from the previous alternatives. One way couplets add the benefit of the protected bike lanes, but does not remove parking. I would request that you ask staff to also implement traffic calming on Misson St. In my experience there are many cars that cut through at high speeds and could use some benefit from speed bumps or a traffic circle. Also, Lincoln could benefit from some traffic calming even if it is not part of the preferred alternative. Thank you for reading and for you commitment to improving our community. I know this will be a tough choice, but please stay strong. Thank you, Garrett Otto Anholm, SLO 1
