As daily commuters on this route, my husband, son and I are excited to see plans move forward. In particular, the northernmost section (Ramona/LDS/Ferrini) is going to make a huge difference for cyclists, pedestrians and transit users who currently “Frogger” their way across that tricky intersection. Since there seems to be some remaining uncertainty about the middle portion, I would like to request that this item be removed from the consent agenda to allow a short period of time for clarification. Also, a brief question on phasing: On packet pg. 173, Phase II includes the (blissfully uncontroversial) extension of buffered bike lanes on Chorro between Palm and Lincoln. Phase III calls for “reconsideration of protected bike lanes.” Does that mean that the Phase II Chorro section will first be buffered, then later protected with a permanent barrier? If so, wouldn't it be safer and more cost-effective to go directly to the permanent barrier? Many thanks, Kim 1
