I believe the resolution does not accurately and completely reflect your intent or recommendation to staff regarding the middle section of the bikeway plan where there is a lot of contention. As the resolution is presented, there is no timeline specified for staff to present a new approach that addresses the valid safety concerns brought up by you, members of the public and staff regarding the 2-way bike track or the lack of additional ridership concerns for the Lincoln alternative. I request that you direct staff to move forward with the construction documents for the northern and southern sections of the project and concurrently develop planning documents for the middle section to be implemented during phase 2. I request that you direct staff to develop a new recommended plan in the next 2 months. In addition, let me just throw out there the idea that our community is at least 50% female. My daughter and I bike as much as my husband and son. Yet, every time we refer to the great, innovative bikeways in our area: Bob Jones, Bill Roalman, there is a lack of acknowledgement of the contributions of women in our community to these great places. I think this bikeway represents a great opportunity to acknowledge and encourage women, moms, and daughters to be the leaders in alternative transportation that they already are. Thank you for your always thoughtful consideration, bold decision-making and vision for a climate friendly, zero bike/ped injury city. Please remove this item from the consent agenda and hold staff to a timeline so that the hard decisions can be made regarding the middle section of the Bikeway Thank you, Shannon Klisch 1
