Honorable Mayor Harman and City Council
Re: Capital Facilities Fee Program;
Thank you for acknowledging the reality of the City Development Fee structure and addressing the problem. Obviously if
fees are too high you may end up with little to nothing, which will leave you potentially with little in the coffers from
development to address the some of our major issues, one being more affordable housing and the realization that it was
basically not feasible to produce a smaller home which could be sold for less due to fees.
The consideration to lesson the burden on smaller housing units is certainly a positive step, but a questions that still
remains is, have these proposed changes really addressed the "feasibility" issue ?
Please continue the dialogue/transparency especially with those such as the development community, the Chamber,
Realtors, etc.... Consider all options with the exception of any "Special Tax Districts" for obvious reasons.
Prioritize what is really needed to be accomplished such as t a new police station. For now, eliminate those projects that
have little overall value.
Thank you for your consideration and keep up the good work.
