Dear Mayor & City Council People :
I am doing a group email to all of you to save time & express my concern to each of you about the proposed development at 1340 Taft
St. As Chairperson of the Alta Vista Neighborhood Association (AVNA) this mixed use project falls into our boundaries . It is a
"given" that this property is prime for development but the 3 stories that are planned is over-kill for this neighborhood . Not only is
this contrary to height restrictions for C-N zoning but the parking for these many units is going to be a nightmare . The automated lift
parking for smaller vehicles is a wonderful idea but how many students do you know with smaller vehicles? These renters aregoing
to be parking in an already impacted area because their cars won't fit in the lift .
This parcel could be developed very nicely according to City guidelines if the developer weren't trying to maximize every inch o f
space . Three (3) stories is too tall & it is severely under-parked . I would urge you to uphold the appeals of Mrs .Ester Marques &
RQN . This project needs further revisions in order to fit into the context of the neighborhood .
