Dear Lady Mayoress Harmon and Members of the City Council: I support the ACOG's recommendations that you rescind
the improper action of the Feb. 20th merting, that you reaffirm the compromise plan that was adopted Feb. 06th, and
that you affirm that plan as the city policy without any changes or intent to subvert it again.
On Feb. 08th I replied to Mayor Harmon's mass e-mail expressing her "disappointment" in the compromise that had
been reached at the Feb.
06th meeting. It was both inappropriate and unprofessional of her. The February 20th meeting of the City Council was
unethical and insulting to citizens who believe in rational and reliable communication between the accountable elected
councilors and the public.
When at the end of a process of public consultation the Council makes a decision in front of the public present and
which is subsequently recorded in the media, the Council must consider itself "estopped"
from making a completely different decision without reopening the consultation. The February 20 meeting was a
flagrant breach of confidence between the voters and their representatives.
