Subject:Support of Anholm Bikeway
Dear Mayor and Council,
I am speaking to urge you to adopt the resolution as presented tonight and agreed upon during
the Feb 20th meeting. Moreover, I ask that you do all that you can to make SLO a bike-safe and
sustainable community.
As a mother of a small child, I would like to feel safe biking downtown and having my child bike
downtown. Before I had my daughter, I regularly commuted in this town via bicycle. But given
some close calls (one while I was pregnant), I stopped doing so. This was five years ago. As a
professor at Cal Poly, I am particularly concerned about the growing volume of traffic given the
real and further anticipated rise of the student population.
