Ihave comments on two items on your agenda .
1 . Water Rate Structure Study
Over the past six or seven years, our water rates have doubled .I
understand that more increases are proposed . These increases should b e
more in line with inflation, not health care rates .
A component of the water rate structure should be community values I
would be disappointed if the water rates push residents to mor e
hardscaping, like in desert areas . There are many values for landscaping
that have benefits for the community in terms of clean air, aesthetics ,
ground water recharge, less flooding, health and urban liviablity .I
suggest you have natural and social resources input on water rat e
O tructure, not just engineers . Air quality specialists would be a goo d
ddition .
