(ARCH 1186-2017) While multistory development at this site is within the general plan, the added height and utilization of 90% of the site will significantly add to the impact on the surrounding area. Since this concession is being given for the planned inclusion of 12% "very low income housing" the public should be given a chance to evaluate the impact of this concession. I am asking that sight -lines be place on the margins of this proposed development, as is done in metropolitan areas in Northern California. Public comment should be included in any decision. The tiered mechanical parking is without any local experience -and is only being considered for implementation in larger communities to our north. Is there any experience in the use of such an arrangement in a student community? Such communities tend to use large trucks and to store often hazardous materiel in the vehicles. There would seem to be a significant danger of fire within the enclosed parking area. I note that an elevator is situated in the lobby area. Where are the units for disabled tenants to be located. What are the evacuation routes for such persons in'the event of fire in the parking area? Finally how will the allocation of "very low income " units be verified? I respectfully submit these considerations for you review. Sincerely Cathryn Howarth https://mail.yahoo.com/ 5/4/2018
