SLD CITY CLERK
hi, i wonder if anyone has considered the impact taking away parking, especially on the north side of laurel In will have on
the community. I live in Judson Terrace, 3000 Augusta St. The complex has very limited pkg, despite having a handicap
placard, I am on a waiting list. The residents, all of whom are over 62 and many are not in good physical condition, who
drive, need to either find street pkg on Augusta or park on Laurel, preferably the north side. I urge all of you to visit the
site and see for yourselves what I am describing.
Having to park on the south side or even the street (it has another name) that Augusta runs into would mean having to
use the extremely large crosswalk. It is very unsafe to begin with because of its length and the seniors do not ambulate
fast, many use devices. There has already been an accident involving a pedestrian since I moved here in late Dec and as
an atty, I can assure you it's a question of when, not if, others will occur if you take away the pkg that would obviously
result in big lawsuits and probable recoveries from the City having knowledge of this.
Respectfully submitted, Jeff Herbst 760.402.6727
