Subject:ARC communication. Los Padres Inn
Dear ARC members,
I am writing regarding the Los Padres Inn project and specifically 1550 Higuera Street which shares a property line
on the South side. I have attended the 2/12/18 meeting of ARC as well as reviewed the initial proposal and revised
proposal for the 6/4/18 meeting.
This letter is focused on the lack of sound absorption, increased noise, headlight intrusion and decreased air
quality by using a 6 foot wooden fence along the two properties. As of now, the LPI building prevents these factors from
intruding on the privacy and health of the family of 1550 Higuera Street. With removal of the building, not only will the
noise from the customers vehicles of LPI be transferred to 1550 Higuera, but also, the traffic noise from Monterey.
Monterey Street is very busy most of the time but extremely busy in the early A.M. and evening with large trucks and
cars as it is a major corridor into the city.
I would like to request that if the parking lot is to be there that a 10 foot high concrete block wall or other sound
reducing material wall replace the 6 foot “wooden privacy fence” proposed. This will mean a great deal to the family at
1550 Higuera in terms of sound, noise , headlight intrusion, air quality and some degree of privacy in their back yard.
Thank you for you consideration in this matter.
Menzie Cliff. (Property Owner 1550Higuera Street, SLO)
