Subject:Proposed park on Broad & 101
Dear Council Members,
I feel this is a bad choice of an area for a park. First & foremost, the proximity of the area to a narrow entrance of the
freeway. And what about the chance that a car or debris from an accident could come flying into the area? If I had
young children I wouldn’t want them to play there.
Second, it’s been a Community garden for many years, what’s going to happen to the people who have invested their
time & money in it?
Third, the lot is close to a creek & mountains, more wildlife have been coming into areas with that type of topography.
Fourth, what about using the Anholm Park? Who owns that property? It’s in a much safer area. The article in The Trib
mentions crossing major thoroughfares. The only major street would be Chorro and improvements such as flashing
markers set into the crosswalks could be implemented. It’s already a 4 way stop.
Please reconsider using the Broad St. property.
