Subject: Parking rate conversion 1/300 to 1/250
Hi Mr. Bell:
I have heard that the new zoning regulations desire to change parking required in retail space to 1/250 from
1/300. Although I am concerned in that providing more parking just encourages more use of automobiles, my bigger
concern is that it dramatically impacts existing developments. I feel that this new rule should NOT apply to existing
developments and only new projects. It is unfair to change the rules after projects have been built. I believe that
existing projects should be grandfathered into the zoning regulations under which they were built.
Please forward my comments on to those on the planning commission that will be making decisions on this topic.
