Subject:Planning Commission agenda – North Broad rezoning
To whom it may concern, I am writing regarding possible development of the open area adjacent to cerro san luis along
broad street.
My wife will be attending the meeting tomorrow to get details about what the city is planning, but I am concerned about
the current area zoned R1 (which I assume there are plans to build on) which is adjacent to a creek, as well as the
remainder of this area.
This is currently open land with a single trail that allows hiking access. I and my family have seen numerous animals -
coyote/jackal, deer, rabbits, numerous birds, etc. both along the creek and in the grassland. It is a travesty to develop
this land when so much wildlife currently use it and the trail present allows for citizens to access.
I fully realize that development occurs as the city grows, but developing this open area adjacent to the Cerro San Luis
open space and restricting the space of all of the wildlife there is excessive.
At the very least, if the city insists on developing the land north of the creek than the remainder of the land should be
given a designation that prevents any future development. Ideally, none of this open space would be developed.
Thanks for your time,
