Carr <ccarr@calpoly.edu> Sent:Tuesday, June To:Advisory Bodies; CityClerk Subject:Planning Commission agenda – North Broad rezoning Dear Planning Commission, We are a family of five living on Mission Lane in San Luis Obispo. I am a Cal Poly professor. My wife is a nurse at Sierra Vista. We have three young children. We strongly support an S-overlay to protect the wildlife corridor and seasonal stream on the Bressi estate. It is also critical that we protect the entire length of the corridor across the Bressi estate. We urge you to push beyond staff’s “half measure” - the entire length of the corridor merits protection, both the part subject to staff’s proposal and also those portions uphill from iton the Bressi estate, to connect Broad Street with the Madonna property on upper San Luis Mountain. As the Madonna property is outside the city and thus out of city jurisdiction, we do not suggest the overlay apply there – only to the Bressi land. Once and if the wildlife corridor is gone, that’s it, that will truly be a sad loss and day for San Luis Obispo. It’s important that we protect the entire wildlife corridor to the fullest extent possible. We need to look out not just for present day residents of San Luis Obispo, but our future generations as well. Thank for your consideration.
