Subject: Meeting on June 27th
Dear Mr. Davidson,
My letter is in regard to the commissions meeting on June 27, 2018.
The commission will be taking up Ordnance 1130, concerning the San Luis Drive neighborhood, which I am a resident of.
Although we did not achieve are entire goals in reducing heights(I can now see the Monterey hotel from my kitchen
window, not a sight I much like seeing, as it raises above the trees even)but many of the other changes provide specific
wording and is comforting to those of us that live in this neighborhood. Our neighborhood is much more than just a
neighborhood. It is a small community of people who look after and know one another. I cannot take a walk up and
down the street here without seeing someone I know and inquiring how they are and vice versa. It is unique and special
and we really would like to keep it that way. It’s not home prices or the wealth of some, as many of us live in modest
bungalows(like me, a widow), but it is the caring and connection we all have to one another.
I hope that you will endorse the current statement, as written, and recommend it for adoption to the City Council for
ratification in August.
Thanks so much.
Sincerely,
Victoria Grostick
