Aldo Leopold 1938 June 27, 2018 Planning Commission-City of San Luis Obispo Xzandrea Fowler, Chair xfowler@slocity.org Dear Planning Commissioners; RE: Agenda Item 1-Appeal-159 Broad St. Subdivision Thank you for submitting this letter into the file of the above item. I represent Biodiversity First!, a local not-for-profit conservation organization. Our mission is to create wildlife corridors to provide wild critters the opportunity to survive and reproduce. Without these corridors, these species will not maintain the health and genetic diversity which they need to avoid extinction. Although huge swatches of land are generally thought of as survival corridors, we know that the smaller pieces of land, especially in more densely populated areas are just as important. This Bressi property is, as described in many testimonies in this record, is a perfect example of this phenomenon. A multitude of species are highly dependent on this small bit of open space. It is imperative that an ā€œSā€ overlay be added to both portions of this existing corridor. Your attention and diligence to this item would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Biodiversity First!
