Subject: follow up Nipomo Palm Monterey project
Hi Rachel,
th
I’m unable to attend the Environmental Impact report on the 17 of July. I would like to continue to note my objections
to taking down the historical property on Monterey for this project and for building a nonprofit theatre. The downtown
area needs to absorb the current projects it has embarked upon and something of this scope should be more carefully
considered. Changing all the zoning in this historical district and taking out the house on Monterey is a perfect way to
change the charm of downtown and as a resident, it opposes what the City has seemed to stand for since I arrived 25
years ago. In regards to the parking structure, one of the City Planners did also suggest in the prior meeting to dig down
so that the profile of this building wouldn’t be as high and I support that effort.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Kathy
