Subject:San Luis Ranch Housing
To whom it may Concern,
I am writing you today to explain how important affordable housing is to this City.
I’ve recently moved to this city (Sept. 2017) with my wife and two children (2 &4 yr olds) I currently work for PG&E
and make a half decent living. I moved here from the Central Valley where I lived for 12 years prior. The main reason I
moved here was to get my family away from all the crime and violence the valley is known for. I am currently renting at
an astonishingly high cost, higher than my mortgage was in Lodi, CA! My wife and I have decided if we can’t purchase a
house within the next three years we will be forced to move out of state. My 5 year old daughter was just accepted into
Pacheco School and it really hurts me to think I might have to transfer her to a new school or possibly move her to a new
city.
Please consider family’s like ours when you plan affordable housing in SLO. We’re middle class hard working,
responsible and sometimes need a lil break. We make to much $ to qualify for low income housing but not enough $ to
afford a $650,000 mortgage!
Sincerely,
Guillermo Rivas
