Honorable commissioners,
I fervently ask that you further restrict the development at 790 Foothill.
The scope is just too large, even with the changes that were made, under your directions.
I feel strongly that this developer, in particular, is out to destroy our beautiful town, with his three developments in the
North Broad area. All are being built for mass density of students in mind, and not helping, in the least, with our
affordable work force housing shortage. I dread the day all three, within a few blocks of each other, are inhabited. The
amount of traffic on our quiet end of town will be unbearable and dangerous. The increased traffic from the
construction equipment has already proved incredibly disruptive. And I find it so ironic that a city which is pushing for
Broad Street to be a bike boulevard, would even contemplate a development that would spill its vehicles right onto this
bike path. A bit short sighted perhaps.
I appreciate that you see this, and are willing to do something about it.
Surely our quality of life and safety are more important than filling a developers pockets.
Thanks for your deliberate consideration,
Debbie Anthony
