Long time no see! I hope you're enjoying married life! I wanted to include my two cents on the 790 Foothill project. My mom got the letter in the mail. We are strongly opposed. I understand the need for more housing, and that that area is perhaps less developed than zoning plans for, however, this particular project changes the neighborhood in a negative way. One giant building across the street is enough. I like driving down foothill and being able to see bishop peak. I like driving by and seeing the old dairy dispensary (now blackhorse). I remember when it was a bicycle shop. That old building on the corner is one of the few remaining buildings from when the neighborhood was first developed and I would hate to see it go. I also think the value and charm of the neighborhood would go down if you can't see any mountains from the street. I think poly parents would also be less impressed by the town if they can't see the mountains. Lastly, parking. As it is people who live on north chorro park in the lot behind blackhorse and mcdonalds and the lot behind lassens. I don't think the neighborhood could handle another tall mixed-use building, nor do I think it should. I understand development is necessary and the area is zoned for more. I don't think mixed-use is the key and I don't think the old corner building should be torn down for new, uninteresting building and I don't think minimal parking and no greenery or frontage is the right choice. Thank you so much for passing along my opinions and concerns. I am okay with my comments being read or printed or included in minutes or whatever. (Miss you all at the City!) Thank you, 1 Elizabeth Farrington 2
