I could stop there because just that statement shows "ridiculousment"—I just coined that word! The dictionary doesn’t include a word for allowing structures such as this which  degrade an area of town  cause traffic problems  fly in the face of residents still attempting to uphold a quality in neighborhoods in which they live. Let’s see: Exactly like the discussion on 71 Palomar or 22 Chorro, Staff is wielding their way. We have seen it time and again. The frogs are starting to jump before they are boiled. This must end with new Mayor and new Council person at election time followed by new Staff who can work with the will of the people…..yes, it can be done. It is purely part of the same “mind set” that Staff (or Council with skewed views from what residents’ want) sets the parameters for commissioners doing public service. We cannot have Council who think they are the boss(es) like Ms. Christianson and Revoire who pull people off commissions for speaking their mind . 1 We need more of you being threatebed of being pulled off for speaking for the public. We need a big change in San Luis Obispo. Take a stand; make a statement. We need Commissioners to serve at the pleasure of the public, of which you are a part. Let us reverse the detrimental direction of this City! This larger discussion includes heights of buildings Downtown. Any poll taken shows the RESIDENTS DO NOT WANT TALL BUILDINGS. Why are any of us allowing ‘STAFF’ (serving at the pleasure of developers) to set the approval/permit. I am quite aware the new height allowed was pushed through a previous Council by then City Manager, Katie Lichtig, who trained our current City Manager and Community Development Director. That is only part of the damage she caused and it is time for it to be reversed. Let’s see by election time who speaks for residents and who just speaks rhetoric. My final statement is actually a BIG QUESTION. Who on this City Council or on this City Staff has appealed to THE STATE. We have a huge situation with housing in this city DUE LARGELY TO THE STATE UNIVERSITY. We house at least 12,000 students in many neighborhoods that could house workforce and young professionals AND FAMILIES. Surely anyone with any integrity at State or Local level can agree that it is NOT our job to provide STUDENT APT/ DORMS IN THE CITY. Shame on anyone building them. Shame on anyone supporting them. TIME (past time) for INTERVENTION, 2 Camille Small 3
