You efforts are greatly appreciated by everyone. I am writing this email in support of a Residential Parking Permit District for Meinecke Avenue, especially between Broad and Chorro Streets. My name is Bill McLennan and I have lived at 706 Meinecke Avenue for over 20 years. This small section of Meinecke Avenue is a vibrant and diverse family neighborhood representing all age groups living in 12 owner occupied homes and one student rental. Many of my neighbors were born and raised in San Luis Obispo and others have retired here. The neighborhood contains families with junior high and high school aged students, including one student who just finishing his first year at UC Berkeley and two others that were recently accepted there. We are proud of the environment and life-style we have created here together. Clearly, this is a neighborhood that is a quintessential example of life in San Luis Obispo that provides coaches, volunteers, good friendships, lemonade stands, first bide rides, pickup basketball games, skateboarding, neighborhood potlucks, instant help when someone is in need, and contributes active, participating members to this community. With many changes coming to this portion of town, balance is necessary to preserve this neighborhood treasure. A Residential Parking Permit District is necessary and will provide an essential tool to achieve that goal. Sincerely and with best regards, Bill McLennan -- William Roy McLennan 1022 Mill Street San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 (805) 544-7950 (805) 544-8082 (FAX) MCL706@gmail.com 2
