RE: Anholm parking district
Dear Mayor Harmon,
I am a physician and business owner adjacent to the newly proposed Anholm parking district.
I totally understand the need to establish the district. The parking demands are intense in this
neighborhood what with Casa de Vida, the Family Medical Clinic, the physical therapy office and
our dermatology clinic. The situation will be made worse when the new student apartment
opens at 22 Chorro.
The homeowners and residents in the Anholm area should have parking privileges where they
live.
Consider, if you will, some remedy to improve the parking situation at this end of town. It is
only going to get worse.
There is a large vacant lot adjacent to Rabobank on Santa Rosa. Many of the people working in
the adjacent area are parking there now. Would the city consider purchasing this property and
building a parking garage?
That would go a long way to easing the parking problem in the vicinity and take parking
pressure off of the Anholm neighborhood.
Thank you for considering this possibility.
p ly.
