Dr. Mayor Harmon and Councilman,
I am a professional, late 3O’s, single, dental hygienist. I relocated six months ago from Colorado back to CA. I have an
excellent career and a substantial down for a home purchase. I CAN NOT afford to buy a single family home in SLO at
this time. I am an ideal homebuyer with excellent credit and a reasonable down payment. I want to stay in the area, but
to be honest, can barely afford it. Affordable housing is a must! The area desperately needs seasoned, qualified
healthcare workers and other young professionals. We take a pay cut to live here as wages are much higher in Santa
Barbara, LA, and San Francisco. Housing costs need to be adjusted to draw professionals to the area. Thank you for
seeing the need!
