Subject:RE: Zoning Regulations
Hi Ms. Meyers, I'm responding on behalf of Michael Codron. The City Clerk will forward this to the City Council as
agenda correspondence for their next meeting on August 21st to discuss the Zoning Regulations Update. Please be
aware that while all Zoning-related comments are welcome, the new Zoning Ordinance does not propose any increase in
downtown building height over what the existing Regulations allow. Thank you for interest in downtown development
and please give me a call if you have any questions or want to discuss a specific project.

Subject: Zoning Regulations
To the City Council and the Planning Commission,
It is with grave concern that I write to you. Despite many letters of concern to the Tribune, and the thoughts of many of
the citizens of San Luis Obispo, the downtown of San Luis continues to be destroyed by developers.
The height of the new buildings and the size of the new buildings are grossly changing the character of the city. Our
views are gone. Parking is a nightmare. More retail space is not needed as we have a surplus of empty storefronts. The
same is true for commercial space.
Why is the council continuing to allow the developers building approval permits at the expense of the small town charm
that the more than 40,000 residents have come to cherish?
Please explain why these eyesore developments are being approved despite continued calls from the citizenry to
maintain the charm of San Luis. I sincerely hope that you will listen to the people you serve and keep San Luis the special
one of a kind city it once was.
